Lessons from Leaders: Sam Tasker-Grindley, Co-founder/Founder, Furlonteer and Studenteer [VIDEO]

“There’s a real danger of losing a generation of talent here, if they can’t get, decent work experience, decent internships or first roles after university.”When the first lockdown happened, chartered accountant Sam-Tasker Grindley found himself furloughed. Rather than binge on Netflix, he co-founded non-profit, Furlonteer, to match skilled people on furlough with charities & non-profits and then founded another non-profit, Studenteer, to match students to intern and work placement opportunities. Somehow he also found time to get married and join Clarity HQ as their Head of Member Services. In this inspiring conversation, we cover:

  • what motivated him to start Furlonteer and Studenteer
  • how he empowers the talented students he works with as a natural part of his leadership style
  • what fuels his desire to make a difference
  • why opportunities for students are more important than ever
  • why he felt he wasn’t suited to a traditional accountancy career path
  • the effects he has seen the pandemic have; and
  • the power of taking action.

Enjoy!
